Walt Helmick Visits Bob's

Last Wednesday, we were glad to have Commissioner Walt Helmick from the Department of Agriculture stop by for a visit and tour.  While on the tour he got to see our seed storage cooler with over 3,000 varieties of seeds, plants that will be going to the Greenbrier Resort, and all of the folks that keep Bob's Market running smoothly.

Bob's Market Introduces A New Product!

This year Bob's Market is proud to introduce a new product line.  From the foothills of Switzerland we are importing trees from the species spagosus pastara, also know as Spaghetti Trees.  Once threatened with extinction, these trees have now been fully repopulated it Switzerland and Italy.  Recently a change in US Customs regulations has allowed us to start importing the once endangered plants.

Agriculture Program Partners with Bob’s Market and Greenhouses, Inc.

The Community and Technical College System (CTCS) of West Virginia has awarded West Virginia University at Parkersburg a workforce development initiative grant for a new diversified agriculture Learn and Earn program. With the $96,000 in grant funds, WVU Parkersburg and Bob’s Market will collaborate to offer this cooperative education program where students will be paid while they earn a 30-hour degree certificate in diversified agriculture.
