Ingredients

  • 4 (4 ounce) tilapia fillets

  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice, or to taste (Optional)

  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley, or to taste (Optional)

  • ½ teaspoon chopped fresh thyme, or to taste (Optional)

Directions

  1. Rinse tilapia fillets in cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Season both sides of each fillet with salt and pepper.

  2. Place flour in a shallow dish. Gently press each fillet into the flour to coat and shake off any excess.

  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook tilapia fillets in the hot oil, in batches if necessary, until fish flakes easily with a fork, about 4 minutes per side.

  4. Brush melted butter onto the tilapia fillets in the last minute before removing from the skillet.

  5. Drizzle fillets with lemon juice and garnish with parsley and thyme.

Tilapia fillets are pan fried and served with a simple yet delicious cream sauce with oyster mushrooms. One of my go-to recipes during the week cause it is ready in less than 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 3 cups fresh oyster mushrooms, stemmed and sliced

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

  • 4 (8 ounce) fillets tilapia

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Directions

  • Step 1

    Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat and cook mushroom until browned, about 5 minutes. Add cream, salt, and pepper and simmer until sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.

  • Step 2

    Cut tilapia into large pieces and season with salt and pepper. Dredge in flour.

  • Step 3

    Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook tilapia until cooked through and browned, about 3 minutes on each side. Arrange on a plate and cover with mushroom-cream sauce.

Easy Baked Tilapia

This easy recipe for tilapia only takes a few minutes to prepare, uses few ingredients, and is flavorful.

This easy recipe for tilapia only takes a few minutes to prepare, uses few ingredients, and is flavorful.

Ingredients

  • 4 (4 ounce) fillets tilapia
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt, or to taste
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen cauliflower with broccoli and red pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees F). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Place the tilapia fillets in the bottom of the baking dish and dot with butter. Season with Old Bay seasoning and garlic salt. Top each one with a slice or two of lemon. Arrange the frozen mixed vegetables around the fish, and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  3. Cover the dish and bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until vegetables are tender and fish flakes easily with a fork.
