Gallipolis in Bloom Judges Visit Announced

GALLIPOLIS — Judges from the America in Bloom (AIB) national awards program will visit Gallipolis, on June 18 and 19. Gallipolis is a veteran participant in the America in Bloom national awards program; this is their seventh year in the national awards program. They won their population category in 2011 and received a criteria award for their floral displays in 2006. In addition, they have received special mentions for their efforts in heritage preservation. The town is one of 27 towns across America working on local revitalization programs with the hopes of receiving a prestigious America in Bloom national award.

Gallipolis is competing against Slippery Rock, PA; Hummelstown, PA and Lakeside, Ohio, in the 3,001 to 4,500 population category.

This year’s judges are Diane Clasen and Bill Hahn.
