THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A FREEZE WARNING... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS EVENING TO 9 AM EDT WEDNESDAY. THE FREEZE WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* TEMPERATURES... IN THE MIDDLE 20S TO LOWER 30S... WITH THE COLDEST TEMPERATURES IN THE HOLLOWS AND OUTLYING AREAS.

* TIMING... A QUICK FALL IN TEMPERATURES THIS EVENING TO NEAR FREEZING... WITH THE LOWEST TEMPERATURES AFTER MIDNIGHT. A RISE IN TEMPERATURES IS EXPECTED DURING THE PREDAWN... ESPECIALLY ON EXPOSED HILLTOPS.

* IMPACTS... FREEZING TEMPERATURES COULD DAMAGE ANY SENSITIVE EARLY SPRING VEGETATION... IF NOT PROTECTED.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FREEZE WARNING MEANS SUB-FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE IMMINENT OR HIGHLY LIKELY. THESE CONDITIONS WILL KILL CROPS AND OTHER SENSITIVE VEGETATION.
