Given the economic climate of the U.S. many gardening professionals are speculating that this year there will be more first-time vegetable gardeners than in previous years.  However, to the first-time gardener, creating a new garden from scratch can be daunting task.  This summer we plan to offer a number of seminars at our stores specifically for new gardeners.  We will cover topics like fertilizing, pest control, and a plethora of other gardening topics.

For the health-conscious gardener, we are proud to offer a line of certified organic vegetables to plant in your garden.  Certified organic vegetables are guaranteed to not be genetically engineered and are raised without the use of pesticides or other chemicals.  All of our organic vegetables are carefully grown in their own separate greenhouses to ensure that they have not been in contact with any of the chemicals used in the production of our bedding plants.

~Did you know that only $50.00 worth of seed and fertilizer can grow as much as $1,500.00 worth of produce?

For those of us that think veggies are great, but want color, we have a huge selection of ornamental annuals and perennials.  We have everything from abutilon to zinnias to choose from.  We also carry a large number of planting options.  Bob’s offers mainly 10 inch hanging baskets, 4 inch pots, and flats of 32 plants.  However, we also carry items in other container types, and for the gardener who is short on time, we even have pre-planted decorative pots, hanging baskets, and window boxes.  We also have a large variety of soils and mulches to choose from.

Check out this picture taken last summer of one of Bob’s own flower beds.  It features some beautiful petunias planted in a “rope” pattern.
